Autumn 2 Traditional Tales

 

The finished lighthouses!

 

The children created amazing lighthouses using lots of materials.

Many of the lighthouses even lit up!

 

Parents and grandparents join children to make lighthouses!

 

The children designed and made their own lighthouses with the help of their parents and grandparents. A great morning was had by all!

 

Raising money for Children in Need

 

Class 2 came dressed in something spotty to support Children in Need!

 

An author visits Bishopton!

Chris Connaughton joined Class 2 for a story telling session. 

 

 Anti-bullying week

To raise awareness for anti-bullying week, Class 2 wore Odd Socks for the day!

 

Celebration day for topic homework tasks!

 

The children in Class 2 were given a variety of homework tasks to choose from linked to their Grace Darling topic. 

Their achievements were celebrated in assembly and all children received a certificate. 

 

Class 2 visit the Blue reef Aquarium!

 

What a great day out! The children learnt lots about living things and their habitats. 

 

Outdoor Science!

 

 

Year 2 have enjoyed Outdoor Science this week. They have been using scientific equipment to observe living things more closely in the local environment. 

 

 

An Olympian visits Bishopton!

 

Sally Scott, a Commonwealth Bronze Medal Winner, visited our school. She shared her experiences about becoming a pole vaulter and explained what hurdles she overcame to climb to the top. 

 

Harvest Festival

 

The whole school took part in a special Harvest Festival where by many gifts were donated and sent to a local food bank. 

 

 

 

Summer 2018 Outdoor Science

 

 What an eventful afternoon we have had searching for minibeasts! Class 2 have used new Science equipment to observe a variety of insects in lots of different places around the school grounds.

 

 

Class 2 have had a successful Egyptian themed Egg Day! 

 

Class Two took part in African Drumming playing the Djembes!
