Spring 2

Welcome to another half-term! Let's continue the great learning we've encountered so far in 2021!  Scroll down for your home-learning tasks each day.

Our key stories this half term are....

Tuesday 2nd March

Good morning boys and girls. Did you manage to complete some home-learning tasks yesterday. The weather has been very settled recently, so hopefully lots of opportunities to get outside and play too!

Let's start off our day with a 10 minute shake-up!

Home-Learning Tasks - 2.3.21

Phonics:
Practice some interactive letter formation on Doorway Online
before your phonics task.

I would like you to watch the video below and have a go at learning a new sound today. 'oi, spoil the boy'. It sounds the same as 'oy'. Complete the activities in the video and try your best!

Reading:
Head over to Bug Club and explore some of the stories you have been set. If you have read all of those books, then click on 'My Library' to access all of the books you've been previously assigned.

Maths:
Today I would like you to have a go at some practical activities for counting to 20. Click on the task below to find out some ideas that you could do at home.

 The Gruffalo... Continued
Last week we explored The Gruffalo story. Today, I would like you to have a go at making your very own gruffalo collagé with objects from nature. See the image below.

You could ask an adult to draw a large Gruffalo outline on some paper or card, then go on a hunt for sticks, leaves and grass and glue them on to fill the space. Find something that you could use for eyes and teeth and don't forget to send some photos of the finished product! Have fun!

Have a brilliant day!

Monday 1st March

Good morning everyone. Did you have a good weekend? Today is the start of March and it's St David's Day - The patron saint of Wales. We'll explore this further today.

Let's get going with our tasks, but first, we'll sing-along to some of Mr Tumble's Nursery Rhymes!

Home-Learning Tasks - 1.3.21

Phonics:
Warm up your brains and practice your word reading skills with 'Dragon's Den' on Phonics Play! Try Phase 2 and then phase 3 if you can manage!

Click on the image below to access your phonics tasks for today. I would like you to focus on recapping the ee and ea sounds today. Give it your best go and let's see some super sentences!

Reading:
Head over to Bug Club and explore some of the stories you have been set. If you have read all of those books, then click on 'My Library' to access all of the books you've been previously assigned.

Maths:
Today I would like you to practice finding 1 more and 1 less for numbers to 20. You are good at doing this for numbers to 10, so give this challenge a go! You can use real objects and items at home to help with counting and I've attached a number line to help you too. Remember, 1 jump forward for 1 more and 1 jump backwards for 1 less.

St. David's Day:

Watch this short video which shows what some children in the city of St. David are doing to prepare for and celebrate St. David's Day!

Get creative and have a go at making or painting some daffodils. See the pictures below for some ideas. If you look carefully outside, you might see some real daffodils starting to bloom!

Have a lovely day everyone!
